One down - with a little help from a friend.
It was great to get the first run of Hitting 50 done - and a special thanks to my wingman for the day... Jack Le Feuvre (JLF).
An eight-lap slog would have been really tough without some company and the relative youngster helped me to a pretty respectable time of 02.06.13.
The daunting nature of the challenge is now becoming apparent.
But having both Gilly and our friend Jo shouting their support, and a post-run pint with Sam Jones and the Stephens was amazing.
What was also lovely about the event was JLF and I were joined by a fellow runner who had never done more than 10k. We ran with each other for most of the race and followed the finish line together.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
